Lore is operated by Verus Trade LLC. By using Lore — the website at chapterof.me or the app at app.chapterof.me — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
You write a short entry about your day. Lore returns a chapter — your day retold as part of an ongoing story, carrying forward the people and threads you have mentioned before. That is the whole product.
Chapters are generated by AI. They are a creative retelling, not a record of fact. Lore will invent detail, tone and framing that you did not write. Do not rely on a chapter as an accurate account of what happened, and do not rely on it as advice of any kind.
Journaling can be good for you, and Lore is built to make it easier to keep up. But Lore is not a therapist, not a counsellor, and not a medical or mental-health service. It does not diagnose, treat, or monitor anything, and nobody reads your entries looking for signs that you need help.
You need an account to write chapters. You are responsible for what happens under it, so keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.
You must be at least 16 to use Lore, and old enough to enter a contract where you live. One account per person.
You own what you write, and you own the chapters Lore generates from it. We do not claim ownership of either, and we do not sell your writing.
You give us only the permission we need to run the product: to store your entries and chapters, to send an entry to our AI provider so a chapter can be written, and to show your own writing back to you. Nothing more. How that data is handled — including the encryption and what our providers do and do not keep — is set out on the privacy page.
If you use the share feature, you are choosing to publish that chapter. Anything you share is yours to share, and yours to think twice about first.
Please do not:
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.
There is a cap on how many chapters you can write in a day. It exists because generating a chapter costs us real money, and the cap is what keeps Lore free. The current limits are shown in the app, and they may change.
Lore is provided as is. We do not promise it will always be available, that chapters will be to your taste, or that nothing will ever go wrong. It is a small product run by a small operation. Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose — you can export everything from your account settings at any time.
Lore is free today. There is nothing to buy, and we are not taking payments.
If that changes, this section will say exactly what a plan costs, how long it runs, and how to cancel, before you are asked for anything — and the price and terms in force when you subscribe are the ones that apply to you. Any purchase made through an app store is also governed by that store's own terms.
You can delete your account at any time from settings. Deleting removes your entries, chapters and account data as described on the privacy page. Export first if you want to keep your story — once it is gone, we cannot get it back for you.
We may close the service down. If we do, we will give you notice and time to export.
To the extent the law allows, Verus Trade LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Lore, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while Lore is free, is nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they do not apply to you.
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. If a change matters — anything affecting what you pay, what you own, or how your writing is handled — we will tell you rather than quietly changing this page.
